Getting Started

It was a fun surprise to find this package on my porch today. My aunt sent me some of my Grandma Winkler's Diaries.  Even though a lot of her entries don't say much, they also say give us a glimpse of her life. I'm going to start posts here dated back to the date of her entry to hopefully preserve her record for her posterity. Blogger won't let me post anything before 1970 so everything before that year is listed as 1970 in the date stamp but the correct date is in the title.  Also, I'm going to try and stick to typing it the way it was written except for a few obvious corrections. If there is "(?)" it means I can't read her writing and made my best guess.
